About This Role
A well-established mid-tier firm is seeking a Tax Disputes Director to lead their growing investigations and disputes practice. You will manage high-value HMRC enquiries, tax litigation matters, and provide strategic advice to clients facing complex compliance challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex HMRC enquiries and Code of Practice investigations across all tax heads
- Manage tax litigation matters including First-tier and Upper Tribunal cases
- Provide strategic advisory support on voluntary disclosures and tax risk management
- Develop the disputes practice through business development and thought leadership
- Mentor and develop a team of managers and senior consultants
Requirements
Essential
- ✓CTA qualified or solicitor/barrister with tax specialism
- ✓8+ years experience in tax disputes, investigations, or controversy
- ✓Experience managing HMRC Code of Practice 8 or 9 cases
- ✓Track record of successful dispute resolution outcomes
Desirable
- ○Tribunal advocacy or litigation management experience
- ○Experience with cross-border investigations or HMRC's FIS
- ○Business development track record
